The 1246 Copper Blue is a richly saturated deep blue, with a few unique attributes. The intense color lends itself well to working thin. The surface of 1246 Copper Blue can develop a range of metallic sheens at various firing temperatures, somewhat similar to 0146 Steel Blue. Additionally, it is highly reactive with sulfur glasses. Upon firing, it may stain kiln separator and shelves, and can cause reactions with sulfur glasses in subsequent firings on those shelves.
