The Medium Flower Slumping Mold from Bullseye (design number 7983) is a ceramic slumping form that shapes a glass sheet or fused blank into a medium flower-shaped dish. Place the prepared glass on the form and fire it; gravity pulls the softening glass down into the flower contours as it heats.
The mold outer dimensions are 8.25 inches by 1.25 inches (21 by 3 cm), used to check kiln fit. Because each mold is handmade, individual pieces vary slightly in size, so measure the actual mold before cutting your glass. The slipcast clay body produces a smooth surface that accepts kiln wash uniformly and holds up under repeated proper use. These molds are slipcast by Creative Ceramics in Europe and imported and sold by Bullseye Glass.
What does the Bullseye Medium Flower mold make? It slumps a glass sheet or fused blank into a medium flower-shaped dish. The glass softens and settles onto the form surface by gravity, taking on the flower contours.
What glass can I use with this mold? Any COE fusible glass works. Ceramic slumping forms are COE agnostic, so the same mold works with COE90, COE96, or other compatible fusible glass. Match your slumping schedule to the glass you are using.
How do I size my glass for this form? The outer mold dimensions are 8.25 inches by 1.25 inches, but because each mold is handmade it varies slightly in size. Measure the actual mold before cutting your glass blank.
How do I prep the mold before firing? Coat the forming surface with a boron nitride primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer and let it dry completely before placing your glass. Re-coat between firings as needed so the finished piece releases cleanly from the form.

Working Notes
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small piece first when the result matters and follow a slumping schedule suited to your glass and kiln.
Coat the forming surface with kiln wash and let it dry completely before placing your glass. Re-coat between firings so the finished piece releases cleanly.
These molds are handmade and vary slightly in size. Measure the actual mold before cutting your glass blank to ensure a good fit on the form.
The mold is COE agnostic. Choose a slumping schedule matched to the specific glass and COE you are using.
Let the kiln cool fully before removing the finished flower dish.
Bullseye Suggested Slumping Schedule
This is a suggested starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow Bullseye's published Suggested Slumping Schedule for your glass and mold depth, confirm the slump visually, and test a small piece first.
Ramp at about 300 F per hour up to the slump process temperature. Bullseye's published starting point for this mold is 1225 F; shallower forms may need a cooler temperature and deeper forms may need more heat.
Hold at the slump temperature for about 45 minutes (Bullseye's published hold for this mold) to let the glass settle fully onto the form.
Drop as fast as possible (AFAP) to the anneal soak temperature: about 900 F for COE90 glass or 950 F for COE96 glass. Hold for about one hour.
Cool at about 100 F per hour to 700 F, then cool to room temperature with the kiln door closed.
