7-10” Bowl Slump Form

The 7-10 inch Bowl Slump Form from Colour de Verre is a reusable ceramic slump mold that shapes flat glass into finished bowls up to 10 inches across. Sized for pieces ranging from about 7 to 10 inches, it gives flexibility for small batch work or varying bowl sizes. The form is built with a flat bottom so finished bowls sit evenly without rocking, and it includes integrated handholds that make placement in and removal from the kiln straightforward.

Colour de Verre designed this slumper to work alongside their other formers, so it fits naturally into a two-step workflow where glass is first fused flat and then slumped into its final bowl shape in a second firing. Like all ceramic kiln molds it is COE agnostic, meaning you can slump COE96, COE90, or other compatible fusible glass as long as your firing schedule matches the glass you are using.

What does this mold make?
It slumps flat glass pieces into bowl shapes up to 10 inches across. Finished bowls have a flat bottom and can range from about 7 to 10 inches, depending on the size of the glass blank you start with.

What COE glass can I use?
Any COE. Ceramic slump molds are COE agnostic, so the same form works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.

What are the integrated handholds for?
The built-in handholds let you grip and reposition the form safely while loading or unloading the kiln, reducing the risk of dropping it when handling with kiln gloves.

Do I need to prime the mold before use?
Yes. Colour de Verre requires priming before every firing. Apply ZYP BN Lubricoat or Hotline Primo Primer and let the coating dry completely before placing glass on the form.

Working Notes

These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold, test a small run first when the result matters, and use a slumping schedule suited to your glass and kiln.

• Prime the mold surface before every use with ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer, and let it dry completely before placing glass on the form.
• Place a pre-fused or sheet glass blank centered on the primed form, sized to fit within the 7 to 10 inch range.
• The mold is COE agnostic. Use a slump schedule matched to your glass and adjust the anneal soak to suit your COE.
• Let the kiln cool fully to room temperature before removing the bowl. Re-prime the mold as needed between firings.

Colour de Verre Suggested Firing Guidelines

This is a suggested starting point, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold and test a small run first.

• Prime the mold before every use.
• Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour.
• Fire to no more than about 1450 F (785 C).
• Add a controlled cool with an anneal soak appropriate for your glass type.
