Frit is crushed fusible glass, sized by grain, that adds color and texture to kiln glass work. This category collects Bullseye Glass Company opalescent frit in COE90, made from the same tested compatible glass as Bullseye sheet, so it fires predictably with other Bullseye COE90 materials.

What's in this category at AGS

You will find a wide range of Bullseye opalescent colors, from studio staples like Black, White, Red, and Deep Cobalt Blue to colors such as Marigold Yellow, Salmon Pink, Egyptian Blue, Jade Green, and Reactive Cloud. Most colors are offered in powder, fine, medium, and coarse grain, packed in reusable wide mouth jars with larger 1 lb and 5 lb weights available. Assorted sampler packs, including a powder frit sampler and 10 jar and 25 jar assortments, are a practical way to build a working palette.

Choosing a grain size

  • Powder: the finest grind, used for frit tinting, shading, and powder printing techniques.
  • Fine (0.2 to 1.2 mm): smooth color coverage and detail work.
  • Medium (1.2 to 2.7 mm): visible texture and speckled effects.
  • Coarse (2.7 to 5.2 mm): bold chunks for casting, pattern bars, and heavy texture.

Usage notes

Use opalescent frit where you want dense, non see through color. Keep COE90 and COE96 materials separate; frit in this category is for COE90 projects. Opalescent powders read lighter in the jar than after firing, so test fire small samples when color matching matters.
