COE90 stringers are thin threads of glass used to draw lines, outlines, and fine detail in fused work. This category is built around Bullseye Glass Company stringers in transparent, opalescent, and tint colors, along with G. A. G. Stringfetti assortments for pattern and confetti effects. Everything here is tested compatible with other COE90 (90 coefficient of expansion) glass.
Stringers are slender rods of glass, much finer than rod or noodle, that let you place a deliberate line of color exactly where you want it. They are used for outlining shapes, drawing script and signatures, scattering as confetti accents, building pattern bars, and adding bands or pinstripes between sheets in a fuse. Because they are thin, they melt into the surface during a full fuse and hold a soft raised line during a tack fuse.
The bulk of the selection is Bullseye Glass stringers covering a broad Bullseye COE90 palette: transparents from clear, charcoal gray, and chartreuse through aquamarine, emerald, cobalt, cranberry pink, and deep plum; opalescents including black, dense white, cream, French vanilla, deco gray, butterscotch, dark forest green, deep red, and Egyptian blue; and transparent tints in colors like aqua blue, coral orange, erbium pink, and grass green that add a wash of color without blocking light. Browse them alongside other Bullseye formats on the parent COE90 page.
For makers who want a ready mix of colors and lengths, this category also stocks Stringfetti from G. A. G. in themed packs such as Berry, Earth and Sky, Holiday, Rainbow, and Volcanic. These are pre-broken stringer pieces meant to be sprinkled across a blank for confetti style accents, jewelry components, and quick pattern fills.
Pick transparents when you want a colored line that light passes through, opalescents when you want a solid line that reads against any background, and tints when you want subtle color in clear or light work. Stringers in this category are COE90 and are only compatible with other COE90 fusing glass; do not mix them with COE96, float/window glass, or any other glass not tested compatible with COE90. If you fuse on a Bullseye system, these layer cleanly with Bullseye sheet, frit, and powder for consistent results.
Cut or nip stringers to length with an appropriate glass cutter, nipper, or stringer tool, or snap short lengths by hand when safe, and tack them down with a dot of glue or fuser's adhesive so they stay put as you load the kiln. For crisp raised lines, fire to a tack or contour fuse; for lines that flow into the surface, take the firing to a full fuse. Capping stringer work with a clear sheet locks in detail and gives the piece a smooth top surface ready for slumping.
