Tack fusing keeps fins, flippers, legs and starfish arms distinct, which is usually what you want on a creature. A full fuse flattens the shape into the base for jewelry and coasters; fine points such as a seahorse tail or crab claws will soften, so plan the design to accept that or stop at a contour fuse. Fire a single test piece from each pack in your own kiln before running a set.
