How do you calculate shipping costs?
Shipping costs are calculated in real time based on weight, box size, and destination. This allows us to offer our customers the most accurate and best shipping rates possible. The weight and box size of a package are sent to either UPS or USPS via the internet at the time of checkout. UPS and USPS display the shipping amount to the customer. When you purchase from ArtGlassSupplies.com, you will pay the cost of shipping calculated by weight + a $3.50 handling fee per order. The fee covers the cost of fulfillment and materials such as foam pouches, bubble wrap, "Fragile Glass" stickers, boxes, etc. Shipping is an expense to be considered when shopping online. It is our policy to offer the most reasonable rates we can.
Since the system cannot know what size box an order will need, we have set the tare weight of an empty box to 0.50 pounds. This half-pound tare is significantly LESS than the weight of our most often used box.
International Shipping
ArtGlassSupplies.com is pleased to offer international shipping to select destinations. International orders are shipped via USPS and, in special circumstances, UPS. International orders may experience longer transit times depending on the destination country. Please be aware of the following before placing an international order:
Customs, Duties & Taxes
All international shipments may be subject to import duties, taxes, and customs fees imposed by the destination country. These charges are the buyer's sole responsibility and are not included in the shipping cost or product price. ArtGlassSupplies.com has no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount.
Loss, Theft & Damage
Once an international package has been tendered to the shipping carrier and has left the United States, ArtGlassSupplies.com cannot be held responsible for any loss, theft, damage, or delay in transit. International tracking availability varies by destination and carrier, and tracking information may be limited or unavailable once a package leaves the United States.
Refused or Undeliverable Shipments
If an international shipment is refused by the recipient or returned as undeliverable (including refusal to pay customs duties), the customer is responsible for all return shipping costs. The original shipping charges will reduce any refund issued, as will any return freight costs incurred.
Glass Is Fragile
Art glass is inherently fragile. While we pack every order with care, international shipments travel greater distances and pass through more handling points than domestic shipments. We strongly recommend purchasing third-party shipping insurance for international orders. ArtGlassSupplies.com is not liable for breakage that occurs during international transit.
By placing an international order, you acknowledge and accept these terms. For questions about international shipping, please contact us.
