What is in the category

Winged pieces are the core of the group. Dragonflies are the top seller and come in a standard and a large version; hummingbirds, butterflies, bumble bees and ladybugs sit beside them. Birds include a cardinal, an owl, a penguin named Penny, two bird silhouette styles, and mini birds in packs of three, including an orange set. Pets and woodland animals cover a golden retriever, a black paw print and a large dog paw, a Tanner cat and a black opalescent cat pack, a fox, a black bear in small or large packs, a coyote pack, a bunny silhouette pair, a llama head, a bucking bronco horse and a unicorn. Choosing a shape and color

Many shapes are sold in one fixed color; the ones with options list them on the product page. The fox comes in brown or gray, the bear in small or large packs, the dragonflies in colors such as turquoise blue, spring green, yellow and orange, and several birds and fish in opalescent choices like green, red, blue and black, or two tone blue and white and orange and white. Detailed pieces such as the hummingbird or the koi can carry a design on their own; single color silhouettes like the bird outlines, bats and coyotes are built for layering over a contrasting base where the outline does the work.

COE90 compatibility and fusing notes

Every piece in this category is COE90 and is formulated to fuse with other compatible glass in the same COE90 family. Fire them only with COE90 sheet, frit and stringer from tested compatible glass; a shared COE number alone does not make two glasses safe together, so do not mix in COE96 or float. Tack fuse to keep antennae, legs and tail feathers crisp and raised, or full fuse under a clear cap for a smooth encased look. Transparent animals read best over a pale base. How a color behaves in the kiln depends on the glass and the heatwork, and some glass is formulated to strike, so fire a test piece when the exact fired color matters.

Project ideas
