COE96 Twisted Cane

Twisted cane is a thin rod of glass with colored threads spiraling along its length. Laid onto a fused glass project, it adds a fine twisting line of color, a simple way to create borders, stems, lattice work, and small details. Everything in this category is COE96 and fuses with other COE96 compatible glass.

What's in this category at AGS

Most of the range is clear cane twisted with one or more colors: single twists with Red, Yellow and Marigold, Peacock Blue, Lipstick, Sunflower, or Lemongrass, plus multi-color combinations like Red, Yellow, and Orange. There are also color pairings such as Vanilla Cream with Payne's Grey or Olive, blue and green blends, Black and Clear, a Rainbow twist, and striped canes in Cherry Red and White, including a version with Aventurine Green.

Using twisted cane

Cane works well as plate rims and borders, flower stems, abstract line work, and dividers between areas of a design. Cut pieces to the length you need and place them wherever you want a clean, controlled line of spiraling color that would be difficult to build from sheet glass.

Firing notes

At a tack fuse, cane keeps some of its raised, rounded profile. At a full fuse it settles flat into the surface while the twist pattern stays visible. Because it is COE96, use it only with other COE96 glass; never mix COE systems in one piece.
