COE96 Opalescent 3mm

Opalescent glass is opaque to semi-opaque sheet glass with soft, dense color that diffuses light instead of letting it pass through. This category carries Oceanside Glass and Tile opalescent sheets in COE96, mostly in standard 3mm thickness, ready for fusing, slumping, and stained glass work.

The range runs from workhorse neutrals such as Black, White, Charcoal, Pewter, and Crystal to warm tones like Terra Cotta, Almond, Champagne, and Vanilla Cream, blues including Turquoise, Medium Blue, and Hydrangea, and greens from Celadon and Pastel Green to Emerald, Olive, and Amazon Green. A few options step outside the standard sheet, including iridescent coated Black and White and a 2mm Black for thinner work.

Choosing opalescent glass

Choose opalescent when you want solid, saturated color that reads the same against any background: bowl interiors, plate rims, opaque design elements, and backgrounds in stained glass panels. Because the color does not depend on light behind it, opalescent sheets are a natural pick for wall pieces and layered fused designs. For see-through color, look at transparent (cathedral) sheets instead.

Compatibility and firing

Everything here is Oceanside System 96 and fires with other System 96 tested-compatible glass. Keep systems separate: COE96 and COE90 do not mix in the same piece. Standard 3mm sheets full fuse, tack fuse, and slump on ordinary System 96 schedules, and they cut and grind like any other fusible sheet glass.
