Picking the right section

Start with the subject. If the design is a recognizable thing, an owl, a cactus, a snowman, it is in the themed section that names it. If you need a base to build on, a blank to decorate, or a disc for a coaster or a cabochon, go to Circles & Essential Shapes. Seasonal pieces are collected by holiday rather than by subject, so a Christmas tree or a snowflake is in Seasonal & Holiday even though a plain tree might sit elsewhere. Each subcategory page lists its own colors and size options, so compare there rather than here.

COE90 compatibility and fusing notes

Everything below this page is COE90. The shapes are made to be fired with other compatible COE90 glass: COE90 sheet, frit, stringers and noodles from the same system. Keep them out of COE96 work, and do not treat a matching COE number on its own as proof that two glasses from different makers will fuse cleanly; test a small sample first when you are combining brands. Tack fuse a shape when you want the outline and any surface relief to survive; full fuse it when you want it to flatten and round into the base. Clean each piece before it goes into the kiln and fire on your usual COE90 schedule.

What people build with them

Precut shapes remove the slowest part of small fused work. Fusers use them for ornaments and suncatchers, pendants and earrings, magnets, nightlight covers, coasters, and as accents laid onto larger plates and panels before a slump. A circle becomes a cabochon or a coaster blank; a holiday motif becomes a classroom project that a beginner can finish in one firing.
