Skutt's glass and ceramic kilns are a fixture in North American studios, and this category gathers the Skutt lineup carried at Art Glass Supplies. You'll find the FireBox Starter Series for beginners, the GM Studio and Production Series for fused glass, the GM1227 Glass Blowing Kiln for hot shop work, and the KilnMaster KM Series and GlazeTech models for ceramics. Note that the GlazeTech KilnMaster model is designed for ceramics.

Skutt Glass Fusing Kilns

The Skutt FireBox Starter Series (FireBox 8, FireBox 8x4, FireBox 8x6, and FireBox 14) is sized for beginners and small fused glass work on a benchtop. The GM Studio Series (GM814, GM1014, GM1214, GM1414) opens up larger shelves and deeper firing chambers for plates, panels, and bigger slumping molds, and the Production Series (GM818, GM1018, GM1227-3) adds taller interiors and heavier element packages for studios firing every day. See the full range under glass fusing kilns.

Skutt Ceramic Kilns

For pottery and ceramics, the Skutt KilnMaster KM Series runs from the compact KM614 and KM714 up through mid-size and large models like the KM818, KM822, KM1018, KM1022, KM1027, KM1222-3, KM1227-3, KM1227-3PK, KM1231-3PK, and the high stack KM1627-3PK. Many KM models are offered in three phase (-3) versions for commercial power, and the GlazeTech KilnMaster targets low fire glaze, decals, and china paint work. Skutt Glass Blowing Kilns

The GM1227 Glass Blowing Kiln is built as an annealer and color box for hot shop work, with the depth and controls glassblowers need for soak and anneal cycles on blown and sculpted pieces. Find it under glass blowing kilns.

Choosing the Right Skutt Kiln

Start with the work you fire. Glass fusing kilns put the heat above the shelf so it radiates down onto the glass, while ceramic kilns heat from the sidewalls for even cone work. Then match the chamber size to your largest piece, check whether your studio runs 240V single phase or three phase (models with a -3 suffix), and look at the controller options available on each model for programming firing schedules. Skutt's sectional brick construction also makes element changes and long term repairs straightforward.
