What streaky frit is

Each jar holds granules of more than one glass color blended together rather than uniform color throughout. Choosing the right blend

Aventurine grains carry copper sparkle, so blends that include them finish with subtle glint where the dark color lands. Keep every component COE90 when mixing in additional frit, stringer, sheet, or rod so the whole piece moves together through heat-up and anneal.

Firing and use

Streaky frit fires on standard Bullseye COE90 schedules. Sprinkle it as accents on a clear or opal base, pack it into open-face molds, build pattern bars, or use it for pate de verre and frit casting. With aventurine blends, hold a slower approach to peak temperature and avoid overfiring so the copper crystals stay visible rather than dissolving into the glass.
