Non-Fusible Glass by the pound is our bulk scrap selection for stained glass and mosaic makers who want a lot of color and texture at a working price. These are assorted stained-glass offcuts packed by weight, ready to cut, foil, came, or break down into mosaic tesserae. Because the mix is non-fusible, plan it for cold-work projects rather than kiln firing.
Non-fusible stained glass is window glass intended for cold assembly: copper foil, lead came, mosaic adhesive, and stepping stone mortar. It is not COE-tested for kiln work, which means individual sheets in a scrap mix may have different expansion rates and should not be fused together. If you need fusing-compatible material, shop our COE 90 and COE 96 sheet glass categories instead.
This category features AGS scrap packs assembled in our shop from working stock. Expect a mix of colors and textures, with some sheets useful for full pattern pieces and smaller bits sized for mosaic fill. Pack styles include a general mosaic scrap pack with usable shards and a smalls pack of tighter offcuts for detailed mosaic and inlay work.
If you cut patterns for suncatchers, panels, or lampshades, pick the larger mosaic scrap mix so you have room to lay out shapes. If you set tesserae into mortar, grout, or resin, the smalls pack gives you more pieces per pound with less waste. Either pack works well for stepping stones, garden art, picture frames, and mixed-media surfaces.
Score and break with a standard glass cutter and running pliers, then shape with grozing pliers or a grinder. Wear safety glasses and gloves when sorting any scrap, and keep fusible and non-fusible stock in separate bins so a sheet meant for cold work never lands on a kiln shelf. For finishing, pair these packs with copper foil, lead came, solder, patina, and grout from our stained glass supply categories.
