The COE90 Transparent Thin-Rolled 2mm category gathers Bullseye Glass Company's lighter-gauge see-through sheets in a fusing-compatible 90 coefficient of expansion. These sheets are supplied at a nominal 2mm rather than the standard 3mm, which makes them the go-to choice for capping, layering, and stacking without overshooting a target finished thickness.

What Thin-Rolled 2mm Transparent Sheets Are

Thin-rolled sheets read as a wash of color rather than an opaque field, so light passes cleanly through the finished piece. The 2mm gauge is useful for lighter layers, overlays, reactive caps, and stacked designs where you want finer thickness control than standard 3mm sheet allows.

What's in This Category at AGS

This grouping is entirely Bullseye Glass in the 2mm thin-rolled format. The color range spans neutrals (Crystal Clear, Clear, Charcoal Gray, Khaki), blues (Aquamarine, Caribbean Blue, Copper Blue, Deep Royal Blue, Aventurine Blue), greens (Emerald, Kelly, Fern, Leaf, Ginkgo, Lemon Lime, Aventurine Green), warm tones (Carnelian, Cranberry Pink, Garnet Red, Fuchsia, Light Coral, Light Orange, Light Amber, Dark Amber), and purples and browns (Amethyst, Deep Plum, Gold Purple, Dark Rose Brown). Textured clears include Reed and Accordion patterns, and the Alchemy transparents (Silver to Bronze, Silver to Gold) shift tone depending on the firing schedule and the reactive partners they touch.

Choosing and Combining Colors

Everything here is COE90 and cross-compatible within the Bullseye system, so any of these transparents can be layered with each other and with Bullseye 3mm sheets, frits, stringers, rods, and powders. When stacking a transparent over an opalescent, plan for the color the under-layer will impart through the cap. The Alchemy reactives respond to silver-bearing and sulfur-bearing glasses around them, so the final look depends on neighbors and schedule rather than the sheet alone.

Firing and Use

Two stacked 2mm sheets start as a lighter 4mm stack, so use additional compatible COE90 glass if the project needs a 6mm full-fuse target. A single 2mm sheet held at a tack temperature keeps its outline and surface relief, useful for stacked imagery, drop-out vessels, and panels intended for further coldworking. Always slump and anneal on a schedule matched to the final glass thickness, not the starting sheet gauge.

Common Applications

Makers reach for 2mm transparents for cap layers over reactive bases, pattern-bar slices that need a clear seal, jewelry components where weight matters, layered murrine and tile work, and window panels where lighter sheets keep total thickness in check. The Reed and Accordion textured clears work well as top sheets that catch light across the surface without obscuring the colors underneath.
