Decals

Decals add detailed imagery to kiln formed glass that would be difficult to build from glass alone. Each Glass Decal Art sheet carries multiple images that fire on top of pre-fired glass, and the decals can be used with any COE glass, so they work in both COE90 and COE96 studios.

Designs run from nature themes like butterflies, birds, dragonflies, feathers, ferns, and sea creatures to rainbows, hearts, sugar skulls, moons, maps, hot air balloons, classic cars, and bicycles. Seasonal sheets cover Christmas trees and ornaments, snowflakes, Halloween, and Easter eggs, and there are metallic gold and copper designs like the Gold and Black Bee and Copper Penny sheets. Most sheets hold a full set of images, so one sheet decorates many pieces.

Choosing decals for glass fusing

Pick by finish as well as subject. Standard color decals suit plates, coasters, and suncatchers, while gold, copper, and other metallic sheets read well on darker glass. Solid color sheets can be cut into custom shapes for borders and backgrounds.

Firing and usage notes

Fire decals onto glass that has already been fired to its final shape. Typical decal firing falls in the 1240 to 1450 degree Fahrenheit range depending on finish, with metallic decals at the higher end. Follow the firing schedule on each product page and anneal for the thickness of your glass.
