COE96 refers to glass with a coefficient of expansion of 96, a compatibility system used in fusing and kiln work. What COE means

Coefficient of expansion, or COE, describes how much a glass expands as it heats. For a fused piece to survive firing without stress cracks, the glasses you combine should share the same COE. COE90 and COE96 are the two most common systems, and they are not mixed with each other.
