COE90 Dichroic Frit

Dichroic frit brings shifting metallic color to fused glass, and this category gathers the full CBS range on COE90 glass. It includes 1oz jars of dichroic frit on clear glass, dichroic frit flakes on black and clear glass, and frit flakes on transparent colored glass in amber, blue, green, red, and yellow. Every item is made by Coatings By Sandberg (CBS) on a COE90 base, made to be used with Bullseye and other COE90 compatible glass. When combining glass from different makers, test compatibility first.

Choosing between frit and frit flakes

Standard dichroic frit scatters fine points of sparkle across a piece, while frit flakes are larger, irregular pieces that read as distinct patches of shifting color. The base glass matters too. On black glass the dichroic colors reflect at full strength, while clear and transparent colored bases let light pass through for a more layered, luminous effect. Sample sets are a practical way to compare several looks before committing to a favorite.

Usage notes

Sprinkle dichroic frit over a base layer and fire as part of a normal fusing schedule. Many artists cap it with clear glass for a smooth, glossy surface, though uncapped textures work well for accents. Keep projects within one COE system: use these COE90 frits with COE90 glass only, never mixed with COE96.
