Anemone Large and Medium

The Anemone Large and Medium mold from Colour de Verre casts two anemone blossom shapes in a single firing: a large bloom finished at 3 inches and a medium bloom finished at 2-1/2 inches. Both cavities sit in one mold, giving you two coordinated flower sizes from a single session.

Load the cavities with frit and fire to cast the shapes. Colour de Verre lists about 75 grams of glass for the large cavity and about 50 grams for the medium. The finished pieces are suited to fusing onto plates and platters, setting as drawer pulls, or incorporating into jewelry. Like all ceramic casting molds, this one is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings when prepped and cared for properly. • Prime both cavities before every use with ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer, and let the primer dry completely before adding glass.
• Fill each cavity with frit: about 75 grams for the large bloom and about 50 grams for the medium bloom.
• The mold is COE agnostic. Use a full fuse schedule matched to your glass and adjust the anneal soak for your COE.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the cast pieces. Re-prime both cavities before each firing.

Colour de Verre Suggested Firing Schedule

This is a suggested starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold and test a small run first.

• Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour.
• Fire to no more than about 1450 F (785 C).
• Add a controlled cool with an anneal soak suited to your glass: about 900 F for COE90, or about 950 F for COE96.
