These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold.
Prime the cavity with a boron nitride mold primer before every use. Colour de Verre calls for ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer . Let it dry completely before adding glass.
Fill the cavity with 350 to 400 grams of frit, cullet, or stacked sheet scrap. Weigh the fill for consistent results across firings.
The mold is COE agnostic. Use a casting schedule matched to the glass you are using.
Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour through the climb to fusing temperature.
Fire to no more than about 1450 F (785 C). Do not exceed this ceiling.
Drop to an anneal soak after reaching peak temperature. Standard anneal points are about 950 F (510 C) for COE96 and about 900 F (482 C) for COE90. Hold the soak long enough for the full mass of glass to equalize.
Cool slowly from the anneal soak to room temperature. Keep the kiln closed until it is fully cool before removing the cast piece.
Re-prime the mold before every subsequent firing.

Climb rate: no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour.
Peak temperature: no more than about 1450 F (785 C).
Anneal soak: about 950 F (510 C) for COE96, or about 900 F (482 C) for COE90. Hold until the glass mass equalizes.
Cool slowly and in a controlled way from the anneal soak to room temperature before opening the kiln.
