A full fuse fires the murrini down until they sit level with the surface of the base glass, creating a smooth finished piece where the pattern is flush and visible. A tack fuse uses a lower peak, leaving the slices slightly proud of the surface and giving the piece more texture and dimension. The right approach depends on the look you want and how your glass and kiln behave.
Always fire a small test piece before committing a full project. Kiln calibration, glass thickness, and brand can shift results noticeably, so dial in your schedule using test tiles made from the same materials as your final piece.
