This sheet holds a large assortment of autumn woodland motifs printed in deep black ink on a clear film carrier. The designs are rendered in a detailed engraving style and include large and small pinecones with fine cross-hatched shading, pairs of acorns on stems, single capped acorns, lobed oak leaves in several sizes, broad oval and elliptical deciduous leaves, tufted pine needle sprigs, winged maple samaras, a cluster of small dark berries on a branch, and petite hanging pinecones. All motifs are monochromatic and carry the precise look of a traditional botanical illustration.
Each decal is a water-slide transfer that you apply to clean, already-fired glass and then fire in a kiln. The decal bonds to the glass surface as a decorative layer, adding crisp botanical detail to pendants, tiles, bowls, panels, or any other kiln-formed piece. Because the film sits on top of the glass rather than being fused into it, these decals work with any COE glass.
How do I apply these decals to my glass?
Trim each decal close to its design, then soak it in room-temperature water for 30 to 60 seconds until the film slides freely off its paper backing. Position it on clean, grease-free pre-fired glass and smooth out water and air bubbles with a soft squeegee or your fingertip. Allow the piece to dry completely before placing it in the kiln.
Can I use these decals on any COE glass?
Yes. These decals fire onto the surface of already-fused glass rather than into a fused layer, so COE compatibility between the decal and the base glass is not a factor. They work on pre-fired glass of any COE.
What motifs are on this sheet?
The sheet packs in a full range of fall woodland imagery: pinecones in several sizes, single and paired acorns, oak leaves, broad deciduous leaves, pine needle sprigs, winged maple samaras, and a small berry cluster. Smaller pieces work well as accents, while the larger pinecones and broad leaves can serve as focal elements.
Do these decals work on slumped or curved pieces?
Yes. Apply the decal to your already-slumped, pre-fired piece the same way as on a flat surface. The wet film is flexible enough to conform to gentle curves. Smooth it carefully to eliminate air pockets, let it dry fully, then fire.

Working Notes
Clean your pre-fired glass thoroughly before applying any decal. Oils and fingerprints can prevent the film from adhering smoothly. After positioning the decal, allow it to dry at room temperature, ideally overnight, before placing it in the kiln. Firing while the film is still damp may cause bubbling or lifting at the edges.
Suggested Firing Schedule (a starting point only, not a guarantee of results; every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass): Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees. Ramp 50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees, hold 20 minutes. Ramp 150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees, hold 15 minutes. Ramp 250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees, hold 15 minutes. Ramp 600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees, hold 10 minutes. Then ramp to a final 1240 to 1370 degrees, held about 10 minutes, staying toward the lower end to preserve density. Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
