Dark aventurine blue and dusty pink twist around each other along this cane, and the wide bands of colour are separated by narrow windows of clear glass. The blue reads almost black until light hits it, when the aventurine sparkle inside shows through as fine glitter. The pink is soft and opaque, so the two bands trade places down the rod in a slow spiral.
The bands are twisted through clear, so the spiral shows on the surface and again on the cut end. This rod is COE90, hand pulled from Bullseye glass, and it belongs only with other COE90 glass. Use whole sections as a border on a pale base where the dark blue can anchor the edge, or nip them short and stand a few on end so the cut faces show as small blue and pink rounds.

The glitter in the blue band is aventurine, metallic flecks held inside the glass rather than a coating on it. Turn a section under a lamp and the sparkle comes and goes as the twist rotates.
