Two blues share this cane: a bright, clean turquoise and a deep aventurine blue that carries a metallic glitter inside it. They twist together in wide alternating bands with thin clear gaps, so the rod flashes between light and dark as it turns. The turquoise reads forward and the aventurine sits back like a shadow with sparkle in it.
Both colour bands are opaque, so a section laid on the surface covers most of the base, with only the thin clear gaps letting it show through. It is COE90 and hand pulled from Bullseye glass. Fuse it only with COE90 glass. The light and dark rhythm carries well over a distance, which makes this a good rod for outer borders and for dividing a panel into fields. Cut a section across with nippers and the end shows a two blue spiral.

Aventurine gives the dark blue its sparkle. The flecks sit inside the glass, so the glitter belongs to the band itself and not to its surface.
