Aventurine Green Transparent Dots COE90

Aventurine Green Transparent dots look nearly black in the bag, a deep bottle green shot through with fine metallic sparkle. Turn one to the light and the glitter inside the glass flashes copper and gold; it is the aventurine that sets this color apart from every other dark green.

Each dot is a slice of 6 mm cane about 2 to 3 mm thick, made from Bullseye glass and rated COE90. Fuse them only with COE90 glass. The sparkle is inside the glass, not on the surface, so it survives the kiln, and a tack fused dot on a white base shows it best. Use them as scales on a dragon or fish, as the eyes on a dark green frog, or as a single glinting accent on a black pendant.

How does aventurine green read once fired?
It is transparent but very dense, so a single dot over a dark base reads as a glittering near-black. Over white or clear the green comes forward and the sparkle shows as tiny bright flecks. The aventurine survives firing, and it shows most on a tack fuse where the rounded top of the dot catches light from several angles.
