Bullseye Tekta Clear (style 001100) is a 90 COE fusible glass sheet, a transparent color for fusing, slumping, and kilnforming.
Cold characteristics Very faint green tint when viewed on edge.
Working notes Stable. No color shift. Fusible / Bullseye-compatible. BROWN-ORANGE MARKS ON TEKTA After years of experiments, we’ve found that the best separator for keeping a newly formed sheet of Tekta from sticking to our annealing lehr’s metal conveyor belt is natural iron oxide, aka rust that forms on the belt as a result of thermal cycling. As a result of this production process, rust will occasionally imprint upon sheets during annealing. These imprints almost always wash off. (For ease, we recommend using this Scotch Brite pad, but a normal rag will usually work too.) In rare cases when they resist complete cleaning, they will dissipate in a full fuse. In short, these marks fall within our quality standards, and will be undetectable in a full fuse. See just below an example of Clear Tekta with this type of discoloration, before and after cleaning and then fired on top of Warm White (000920) opalescent sheet glass. This time, Clear Tekta is shown before and after cleaning then, fired on top of another piece of cleaned Clear Tekta. Below: Clear Tekta, uncleaned.
Reactions This color is not reactive. It can sit next to any color without forming a reaction line, which makes it a dependable choice for bases and backgrounds. See the Reactive Potential of Bullseye Glass chart to find the colors that do react.
Format and sizes Machine-rolled Tekta sheet, 6mm, trimmed on all sides with no rolled edge. Available in the sizes shown above.
Fusing and compatibility Tested compatible with other Bullseye glass. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
