Bullseye Dichroic Sizzle Stix in Black Mixed Pattern are flat dichroic strips, 6mm wide, cut from thin 1.6mm Bullseye compatible 90 COE sheet glass on a black base, which makes the dichroic colors read bold and saturated. Each strip carries a patterned dichroic coating, with an assortment of patterns mixed across the pack. The coating shows different colors in transmitted and reflected light, so laying a few across a piece adds shifting dichroic accent lines fast.
About the dichroic coating The dichroic layer is applied by Coatings by Sandberg (CBS), known for coatings that hold up to high firing temperatures. It is a thin optical coating that reflects and transmits different colors depending on the viewing angle, so the color shifts as the piece moves under the light.
Format and sizes Flat dichroic coated strips, 6mm wide, on a black base, with edges pre-fired to round them and reduce thermal shock in the flame. Available in the lengths and packs shown above.
Using Sizzle Stix Use them for fusing, lampworking, and beadmaking. Lay strips on the surface to draw dichroic lines and borders, snip them to length, or feed them into the flame for beads and torchwork. For a full fuse, keep the coated side protected by firing it face down against the base glass or capping it with clear, so the coating stays sealed inside the glass.
Fusing and compatibility The base glass is Bullseye compatible 90 COE. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
