The Round Tray 9 inch slumping form from Bullseye Glass (design #8782) shapes a pre-cut glass blank into a shallow round tray about 9 inches across in a single firing. You place the blank over the prepared form, fire to the lowest temperature that fully moves the glass, and let gravity settle it into shape. The outer mold dimension is 9 inches, which is the figure to use when checking kiln shelf fit; because these forms are handmade and vary slightly in size, measure your mold before cutting your blank.
The form is slipcast from a specially formulated clay body by Creative Ceramics in Europe and imported by Bullseye Glass. The surface is exceptionally smooth and accepts kiln wash uniformly. Like all ceramic slumping forms it is COE agnostic and reusable across many firings when prepped and cared for properly.
What does the Round Tray 9 inch mold make? It forms one shallow round tray about 9 inches across from a glass sheet or fused blank in a single firing. The finished piece works well as a decorative or display tray.
What COE glass can I use with this mold? Any COE. Ceramic slumping forms are COE agnostic, so the same mold works with COE96, COE90, or other fusible glass. Match your firing schedule to the glass you are using.
How do I size my glass blank for this mold? Measure your specific mold before cutting, since these forms are handmade and vary slightly in size. The 9 inch figure is the mold outer dimension used for kiln-fit planning, not a precise blank-cutting template.
How do I prep the mold before slumping? Coat the forming surface with a kiln wash or shelf primer and let it dry completely before placing glass on the mold. Re-coat between firings as needed.

Working Notes
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small piece first and follow Bullseye's published Suggested Slumping Schedule for your glass and mold depth.
Coat the forming surface with a kiln wash or shelf primer (a boron nitride primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer also works) and let it dry completely before placing glass on the mold.
Measure your mold before cutting your blank. The 9 inch figure is the mold outer dimension; these forms are handmade and vary slightly in size.
Center the glass blank on the form and confirm it is stable before loading the kiln.
Let the kiln cool fully before removing the slumped piece. Re-coat the mold with kiln wash or primer as needed between firings.
Bullseye Suggested Slumping Schedule
This is a suggested starting schedule, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Follow Bullseye's published Suggested Slumping Schedule for your glass and mold depth, visually confirm the slump is complete, and test a small piece first.
Ramp at about 300 F per hour to the slump process temperature. Bullseye's published starting point for this mold is 1225 F; shallower forms often slump cooler and faster. Use the lowest temperature that fully forms the glass.
Hold at the slump temperature for about 1 hour (Bullseye's published hold for this mold) to let the glass settle fully into the form.
Go as fast as possible (AFAP) to the anneal soak: about 900 F for COE90 glass, or about 950 F for COE96, and hold for about 1 hour.
Cool at about 100 F per hour from the anneal soak down to 700 F, then go as fast as possible to room temperature with the kiln door closed.
