Bullseye Cranberry Pink Stringers (style 001311) are 90 COE fusible stringers, thin rods of glass for drawing fine lines, outlines, and linear detail on fused work. As a striking color, it may not reach its final shade until it is fired.
Cold characteristics Bullseye writes these notes for the sheet form of this color; the same glass is used to make this product.
Varies slightly from lighter to darker shade; sometimes with lighter dappling in single-rolled sheets.
Working notes Color usually deepens on firing. Possible dark interface reaction with selenium and/or sulfur glasses (000137, 001122, 001125, 000124, 000125, 001137, 001437). Less viscous (softer) than most other glasses. Some gold-bearing striking glasses, like this one, should be fired with a 2 hour hold at 1225°F during the initial stages of the firing cycle. If fired without this hold, they may not strike at all, or they may strike but appear spotty and have a blue-brown cast, as opposed to the desired target color.
Reactions This is a reactive glass. It contains Lead (Pb), which is typical for gold struck colors like this one (the gold is the colorant, the base glass carries the lead), and may react where it meets Selenium (Se) / Sulfur (S), forming a visible line or halo at the boundary. Use that on purpose to outline and add depth, or keep reactive colors apart to avoid it.
Using the stringers Stringers are thin, uniform rods you lay on the surface to draw lines, borders, lettering, and fine detail. They fuse flat into the glass and can be snipped, bent with a little heat, or arranged into patterns before firing.
Fusing and compatibility Tested compatible with other Bullseye glass. When you combine it with glass from other makers, matching COE alone does not guarantee compatibility, so fire a small test tile first.
