Burnt Orange Frit Balls COE90

A warm rust orange, opaque and even, with a faint orange peel texture on the larger flattened balls. The color lands between pumpkin and terracotta, deeper than a bright orange and without any red streaking.

Each ball began as glass frit and was fired into a rounded bead of about 3 to 6 mm. The glass is Bullseye 000329 Burnt Orange Opalescent, a COE90 sulfur and selenium color, so pair it only with tested COE90 glass. A bag weighs about one half ounce and holds 100 to 130 balls. It earns its keep as an autumn accent over cream, amber or dark brown bases.

What does Burnt Orange react with?
Bullseye says this sulfur and selenium glass may react with copper, lead and silver bearing glasses, producing a dark line at the interface; copper colors such as Turquoise Blue and Jade Green are the ones to watch. Bullseye also lists it as a striker with no published hold, and since these balls have already been fused, the color you see is close to the fired result.
