Burnt Scarlet Striker, Tint Frit Balls COE90

In the bag these balls already show their color: a clear, deep scarlet red with the transparency of a gemstone, the larger balls darker at the center and the small ones glowing a lighter red. Cold Burnt Scarlet sheet looks almost colorless with a blue green tint, so the red here is the struck color.

Frit balls are spheres of fused glass frit, about 3 to 6 mm, sold in a half ounce bag of roughly 100 to 130. The glass is Bullseye 001823 Burnt Scarlet Tint, a COE90 gold bearing striker made from Bullseye glass for tested COE90 work. Use it for jewel red berries, ladybugs and pomegranate seeds over clear or white.

Do Burnt Scarlet balls need the gold striker hold?
Bullseye publishes a 2 hour hold at 1200 to 1225 F on the initial ramp of the first firing for gold bearing strikers like 001823. These balls have been fused once and already show red, so the hold has largely done its work; if you fire them alongside unfired Burnt Scarlet, keep the hold in the schedule. The glass is lead bearing and may react with selenium and sulfur colors such as French Vanilla, Red and Marigold.
