Butterscotch Frit Balls COE90

Golden caramel with a brown undertone, these opaque balls look like drops of toffee, and several of the larger ones show the slight mottling and orange peel surface Bullseye describes for this color. Small balls read a shade lighter and more amber.

Melted from glass frit into beads of about 3 to 6 mm, frit balls fire onto a base as ready made dots. This one is Bullseye 000337 Butterscotch Opalescent, made of Bullseye glass and meant for tested COE90 projects alone. Half ounce bags carry roughly 100 to 130 balls. Warm up cream, ivory and brown palettes with them, or drop honey colored dots onto a floral piece.

What reacts with Butterscotch?
As a sulfur and selenium glass it may form a dark line against copper, lead and silver bearing colors; Turquoise Blue, Teal Green and Jade Green are the usual suspects. Bullseye lists it as a striker with no published hold, and because these balls are already fused, the caramel you see is essentially the fired color.
