As a dichroic coating the red shifts with light and angle, individual rods warming toward orange or deepening as you move, so the tangle flickers with changing reds when you tilt the piece.

What is CBS Dichroic glass?
Dichroic glass is known for showing different colors depending on light and viewing angle.
