Cherry Red Semi-Opalescent Dots COE96

Cherry Red Semi-Opalescent dots are a bright, slightly cool red, the red of a maraschino rather than a brick. They are mostly opaque, but hold one to the light and the edges show a faint translucency, and some slices have a lighter streak running across the face.

Cut from 6 mm cane at about 2 to 3 mm thick, these COE96 dots fuse only with COE96 glass. The slight translucency is the point of this red: on a white or clear base it reads like fruit with light inside it. Cherries on a cream dish, ladybugs on a green leaf, or holly berries against dark green all suit it, and on black it simply behaves as a solid red.

What does semi-opalescent mean for this red?
On a dark base it behaves like an opaque red, solid and bright. On white or clear a little light passes through and the color warms up and glows slightly, which reads more like fruit than paint. Use it for cherries, ladybugs, poppies and holiday accents where a true red is wanted.
