Christmas Tree Decal Sheet

This water-slide decal sheet carries a large assortment of Christmas tree designs printed in warm metallic gold. The styles run a wide range: clean solid cone silhouettes, layered-branch profiles, ornate filigree trees with scrollwork interiors, trees dotted with snowflake motifs, slim elongated forms with star toppers, stylized triangular shapes with halftone dot shading, and geometric zigzag-branch trees. The designs are arranged across the sheet at an accent scale suited to ornaments, pendants, tiles, and panels.

These water-slide decals are applied on top of pre-fired glass and kiln-fired to bond permanently to the surface. Soak a decal in water until it releases from its backing, slide it into position on clean, smooth, pre-fired glass, work out water and air from the center outward, let the piece dry fully, then fire. Because the decal bonds to the glass surface rather than fusing as a compatible layer, these decals work with any COE glass.

Can I apply these to glass I have already fused or slumped?
Yes. These decals go on top of pre-fired glass. Apply one to a finished, already-fired piece and run an additional firing cycle to set it. The decal does not change the COE of the glass underneath.

Can I use several designs on one piece?
Yes. Cut the trees apart to place a single design on each piece, or group several on one panel, ornament, or tile. The accent scale suits pendants and small work as well as clustered arrangements.

Working Notes

Soak a decal in clean water until it slides freely from its backing. Slide it onto clean, dry, pre-fired glass and smooth from the center outward with a soft tool or fingertip to remove water and air pockets. Allow the piece to dry completely before placing it in the kiln. Handle dried decals gently, as they are fragile before firing.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a suggested starting point only, not a guarantee of results): Final firing temperature is roughly 1240 to 1370 degrees, held about 10 minutes and kept toward the lower end to preserve density. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees.
50 DPH to 185 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 20 min.
150 DPH to 300 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
250 DPH to 500 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
600 DPH to 1000 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Then advance to 1240 to 1370 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first.
