Cinnabar Frit Balls COE90

Rusty red brown, the color of brick dust or paprika, with a slight variation between balls from a redder tone to a browner one. All are opaque with a soft satin gloss and no streaking.

These beads of fused glass frit run about 3 to 6 mm and go on as surface accents in kiln formed and mosaic work. The glass is Bullseye 000309 Cinnabar Opalescent; being Bullseye glass it combines only with tested COE90 glass. Expect roughly 100 to 130 balls in the half ounce bag. Terracotta style beads over French Vanilla, Umber or Woodland Brown are its natural home.

What color does Cinnabar fire to?
Cold sheet can look muted gray brown; Bullseye says it matures to a red cinnabar color on firing, sometimes slightly dappled, with no published hold. These balls have been fused once, which is why they already show the red brown. As a sulfur and selenium glass it may draw a dark line against copper, lead and silver bearing colors.
