Clear Transparent Dots COE90

Clear Transparent dots for COE90 are water-white glass with a lightly frosted look on the cut faces, so a pile of them reads as crushed ice. Once fired the frost disappears and each dot turns fully glassy and invisible except for the shape it leaves in the surface.

These are COE90 dots made from Bullseye glass, sliced from 6 mm cane at about 2 to 3 mm thick, for use with COE90 glass only. The frost on the cut faces comes from cutting and burns off in the kiln. Tack fuse a row of them along a green leaf for dew, cap a colored dot with one for a domed cabochon look, or scatter them over a blue base for bubbles.

Why would I fuse a clear dot?
For texture and for lift. Tack fused, a clear dot becomes a raised lens that magnifies whatever color sits beneath it, which is how many fusers make dewdrops, bubbles and water on a finished piece. Fully fused, a clear dot over a colored base vanishes into the surface. Stacked on top of a colored dot it caps the color and gives it a domed, glassy finish.
