Clear Transparent Dots COE96

Clear Transparent dots in COE96 come out of the bag looking frosted and pale gray, an effect of the cut faces that vanishes the moment they reach fusing temperature. Fired, they are colorless and fully transparent, and only the raised or flattened shape tells you they are there.

About 2 to 3 mm thick and cut from 6 mm cane, these are COE96 dots that belong with COE96 glass only. Fired, they leave nothing behind but shape. A tack fused clear dot over a colored dot makes a wet looking eye; a line of them across a fish makes bubbles; a few on a blue plate read as raindrops. Fully fused they vanish and leave clean texture.

What do clear dots do on a fused piece?
Tack fused, each one becomes a small clear dome that magnifies the color underneath, which makes convincing raindrops, bubbles and eyes with a wet highlight. Fully fused over a colored base they disappear into the surface. Set one on top of a colored dot and it caps and domes the color. They also give clear texture to a piece without changing its palette.
