Cobalt Opalescent Dots COE96

Cobalt Opalescent dots for COE96 are a deep, saturated royal blue with the weight of a night sky. The pile is dense and high gloss, and the color stays even from dot to dot with no streaking.

Each dot is about 2 to 3 mm thick, sliced from 6 mm cane, and rated COE96; combine it with COE96 glass and nothing else. The depth of this blue shows most on light bases. Scatter it over white for a night sky pendant, ring a clear dish with it for a bold border, or tack fuse a few on cream so the domed tops glint like sapphires. In a two blue pattern it takes the role of the shadow.

How does this cobalt behave once fired?
Fully opaque, so it reads as the same deep blue whether the base is white, clear or black. It gives strong contrast on light bases and a rich, jewel-like look on tack fused pieces where the domed top catches highlights. Use it for night skies, deep water, blue eyes and bold polka fields.
