COE90 Premium Designs

COE90 Premium Glass Bails holds one product: Precut Bails COE90, sold in packs. A glass bail is a small loop of fusible glass that fires onto the back of a pendant or a small panel and becomes the hanger, so the finished piece takes a cord, chain or jump ring with no drilling and no adhesive. These are glass, not metal. We also sell metal bails from Aanraku elsewhere on the site; those glue on after firing, while these fuse in during firing and become part of the glass itself.

Precut Bails COE90 are offered as a Pack of 5, a Pack of 20 or a Pack of 100. The bail is the only item here, and it is COE90, formulated to fuse with other compatible glass in the COE90 family. Choosing a pack size

A Pack of 5 is enough to try the bail on a few pendants and settle your placement and schedule. A Pack of 20 covers a run of pendants or a set of ornaments for a show. The Pack of 100 is for production work, class kits and studios that put a bail on most of what they fire. Because each bail becomes part of the piece, count one per pendant plus a few spares for the inevitable test firing.

COE90 compatibility and fusing notes

Keep these bails with COE90 glass only. They are made for the COE90 system and should not go into COE96 work. A matching COE number is not a promise that glass from a different maker will fuse without stress, so test a sample if you are pairing the bail with a brand you have not fired it with before. The bail goes on the back of the piece near the top edge, loop facing up. Whether it can go in the same run as the pendant or wants a separate, cooler attachment firing depends on the schedule you are running, so check the maker's instructions for this bail before you plan the firing. Placement and firing schedule are worth settling on a test piece first, and the maker's own instructions are the ones to follow for how the loop should sit and how hot to take it. Clean the bail and the contact area before firing.

Project ideas

Glass bails are the finishing piece for fused pendants, small suncatchers, ornaments and dichroic cabochons that need to hang. Fuse a bail onto a precut circle for a fast pendant blank, put one on the back of a fused holiday motif for a hanging ornament, or add one to a tiny panel so it can be worn on a chain. Once cooled, thread a cord, ribbon, chain or jump ring through the loop and the piece is done.
