Copper and Black Sea Anemone Decals Sheet

This 5.25 by 4 inch sheet carries seven sea anemone decals in copper and black. Will these decals work with my existing glass regardless of COE?
Yes. Decals fire onto the surface of pre-fired glass rather than fusing as a compatible glass layer, so COE compatibility is not a factor. You can use them on kiln-formed glass of any COE once it has been properly fired and cooled.

How do I apply a water-slide decal without tearing or distorting it?
After soaking the decal in warm water for 20 to 30 seconds, hold the paper backing and slide the film directly onto your glass rather than lifting the film by itself. Use a soft squeegee or damp fingertip to smooth from the center outward, working gently to avoid tearing the thin film. A soft damp brush can help reposition the decal if needed before it begins to grip.

Can I place more than one decal on a single piece of glass?
Yes. With seven decals on the sheet, you can arrange several on one panel or spread them across multiple projects. If you plan to layer decals, fire and cool each layer fully before applying and firing the next for the cleanest results.

What surface condition gives the most reliable adhesion?
Decals bond most consistently to a smooth, fully fused surface free of devitrification, oils, dust, and fingerprints. Clean your pre-fired glass with a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol and allow it to dry completely before positioning any decal.

Working Notes

Apply decals only to clean, grease-free, pre-fired glass. After positioning each decal, smooth it from the center outward and allow the piece to dry fully, ideally several hours or overnight, before loading the kiln. A slow ramp through the early burnout phase helps avoid blistering or edge lifting. Test a single decal on a scrap piece of the same glass before committing a full project to the kiln.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a suggested starting point only, not a guarantee of results): Final firing temperature is roughly 1240 to 1370 degrees, held about 10 minutes and kept toward the lower end to preserve density. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees.
50 DPH to 185 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 20 min.
150 DPH to 300 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
250 DPH to 500 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
600 DPH to 1000 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Then advance to 1240 to 1370 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first.
