Each slice in this bag shows a crisp orange crab with spread claws and a rounded body on a deep cobalt blue ground. The outer ring of each slice is the same cobalt blue, framing the crab cleanly from edge to edge, and the warm orange figure stays readable across the range of sizes in the bag. Slight natural variation in color and slice thickness is typical.
Murrini, also called millefiori, are small cross-section slices of patterned glass cane. Place individual slices on the surface of a fused glass piece before firing to add decorative accents to pendants, plates, dishes, suncatchers, ornaments, and other projects.
What glass do I use with these murrini?
These are COE96 murrini. Use them only with glass of the same COE. Combining glass of mismatched coefficients of expansion creates thermal stress that can crack or break your piece during or after firing.
How are these sold?
Sold by the bag as an assortment of slices; slice sizes and counts vary from bag to bag.
How do I use these in a fused glass project?
Arrange individual slices on the surface of your fused glass piece before firing, then fire to your chosen schedule. A full fuse melts them flat and flush, blending the crab smoothly into the surface; a tack fuse leaves them slightly proud with more of their original shape.
