Crystal Decal Sheet

This decal sheet carries eight crystal formations printed in a warm gold metallic line-art style. Six of the decals each show a cluster of faceted, pointed crystal columns rising from a common base, their geometric outlines drawn to suggest natural quartz or gemstone formations. Two more show single crystal forms. The designs sit across the sheet with clear spacing so each can be cut apart cleanly before use.

These are water-slide fusible decals that fire onto the surface of pre-fired glass, adding a reflective gold accent to fused pieces, slumped vessels, and other finished forms. Because the decal fires onto the surface rather than fusing as a compatible layer, the sheet works with any COE glass. Soak a cut decal in clean water for about 30 to 60 seconds until it slides freely from its backing, position it on clean, dry, pre-fired glass, then smooth out trapped water and air from the center outward. Let the piece dry fully before placing it in the kiln.

How do I apply a decal from this sheet?
Cut the decal you want, soak it in clean water for 30 to 60 seconds until the backing releases, slide the design onto clean, pre-fired glass, and pull the backing free from underneath. Smooth the decal flat from the center outward to remove water and air, then let the piece dry completely before firing.

Are these decals compatible with the glass I already use?
Yes. These decals fire onto the surface of glass rather than fusing as a compatible layer, so they do not need a specific COE and work with any pre-fired glass.

What finish do the crystals have, and does that affect firing?
The designs are printed in a gold metallic finish. Fire to the range in the Working Notes, holding toward the lower end to keep the metallic dense.

Can I place several decals on one piece?
Yes. Cut each decal individually before soaking, trim closely to reduce leftover carrier film, and position each one on your glass. Multiple decals can share a piece as long as each is smoothed flat and fully dried before kiln loading.

Working Notes

Apply decals only to clean, pre-fired glass. Dust, oils, or fingerprints on the surface can prevent the decal from bonding properly during firing. Ensure the decal is completely dry before placing the piece in the kiln, as moisture beneath the decal can cause it to bubble or lift. Handle dried, unfired pieces with care, since the decal is fragile before firing, and test on a scrap or sample piece before committing a finished project.

Suggested Firing Schedule (the manufacturer's recommendation, a starting point only): Firing range is roughly 1240 to 1370 degrees F; these designs fire toward the lower end to preserve density. This is a suggested starting point, not a guarantee of results. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees.
