Dark Green Opalescent dots for COE96 are a very deep, slightly blued green that reads close to black in the pile, with a matte, faintly mottled surface on many of the slices. Only under strong light does the green show clearly on the faces.
About 2 to 3 mm thick and cut from 6 mm cane, these dots are COE96 and go with COE96 glass only. Dark greens need a light background to show. Pine needles on a cream tree ornament, holly leaves on white beside red dots, or the shadow side of a leaf on pale green all suit it; on black it disappears, so give it contrast.
How dark is this green on a base? Opaque and dark. On white or a pale base it reads as a clear deep green; on black it is almost lost, so use it where there is a light background or a lighter dot next to it for contrast. It works for pine needles, holly, dark foliage and the shadow side of leaves.
