Decorative Corners and Triangles Decal Sheet

This sheet carries 22 ornamental decals in two families of design: classic Victorian scrollwork and interlaced Celtic knotwork. The scrollwork pieces include corner brackets with symmetrical, mirrored foliate flourishes and bird motifs, and filled triangles densely packed with vine, leaf, and floral detail. The Celtic pieces feature woven, interlacing knotwork in both square panels and corner shapes. All designs are printed in deep black on a clear carrier film, which produces sharp contrast against light-colored or transparent glass.

These are water-slide decals applied to pre-fired, fully annealed glass. Soak a decal in water until it slides free of its backing paper, position it on a clean glass surface, smooth out any trapped air or water from the center outward, and allow the piece to dry completely before firing. During firing, the decal bonds permanently to the glass surface. Because the decal is applied on top of the glass rather than fused as a compatible glass layer, it works with any COE glass.

Will these decals work with my COE 90 or COE 96 glass?
Yes. Water-slide decals bond to the surface of pre-fired glass during the firing process. They are not fused as a compatible glass layer, so there is no COE restriction. The same sheet works with COE 90, COE 96, and other glass types.

How do I apply a water-slide decal to glass?
Start with clean, grease-free, pre-fired glass. Soak the decal in room-temperature water for 30 to 60 seconds until it slides freely on its backing paper. Position the decal on the glass, then slide the paper away while holding the decal in place. Use a soft squeegee or a damp fingertip to smooth out water and air bubbles from the center outward. Allow the piece to dry completely before placing it in the kiln.

What designs are on the sheet?
The 5.25 by 4 inch sheet contains 22 individual decals: Victorian corner brackets in multiple orientations, foliate triangles, and Celtic knotwork in square and corner shapes. The mix gives you flexibility when framing different panel sizes and compositions.

Can I apply these decals to a piece I have already fused?
Yes, that is the intended use. Apply the decals to a completed, fully annealed piece of fused glass, fire to the appropriate temperature, and the design becomes a permanent part of the surface. This approach lets you add precise linear detail and fine scrollwork that would be difficult to replicate with frit, powder, or stringer.

Working Notes

Apply decals only to clean, grease-free glass. Oils from fingerprints can prevent the decal film from adhering properly and cause bubbling during firing. After positioning and smoothing each decal, allow the piece to dry fully at room temperature before loading the kiln. Rushing the drying step is a common cause of lifting or bubbling during the firing process.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a suggested starting point only, not a guarantee of results): Final firing temperature is roughly 1240 to 1370 degrees, held about 10 minutes and kept toward the lower end to preserve density. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees.
50 DPH to 185 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 20 min.
150 DPH to 300 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
250 DPH to 500 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 15 min.
600 DPH to 1000 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Then advance to 1240 to 1370 degrees, HOLD/SOAK 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first.
