Prime every mold cavity before each firing with a boron nitride mold primer. Colour de Verre recommends ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer or Hotline Primo Primer . Let the primer dry completely before adding frit so the glass releases cleanly.
Fill each cavity with 3 grams of fine or powdered frit.
The molds are COE agnostic. Match your firing schedule and anneal temperature to the glass you are using.
Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour to protect the mold and allow even heat penetration.
Fire to about 1335 to 1350 F (725 to 730 C) for this design. This is lower than the general Colour de Verre ceiling of about 1450 F (785 C) and is specific to the Glasslinks form. Do not exceed this range.
Hold at peak temperature for 25 to 30 minutes, then cool with a controlled anneal soak. A standard anneal point is about 950 F for COE96 or about 900 F for COE90.
Let the kiln cool fully before removing the links. Re-prime both molds before the next use.
