Dogs Decal Sheet

This sheet carries two dozen solid black dog silhouettes, each a distinct breed or type in a clean graphic style. The set spans a broad range: a long-bodied dachshund, a groomed poodle, an alert doberman, a stocky bulldog, a striding shepherd, a low corgi, a small chihuahua, a wiry terrier, a bull terrier, and hounds and sporting types among others. Poses vary, with dogs standing, sitting, and a couple shown mid-play or rolling. All are printed in solid black with no internal line work, so the set reads with high contrast on clear or light-tinted glass.

These are water-slide decals fired onto the surface of pre-fired glass. Because they bond to the surface rather than fusing as a compatible layer, they work with any COE glass. Soak a decal for about 30 seconds until it releases from its backing, slide it onto clean pre-fired glass, smooth out water and air with a soft tool, and let the piece dry completely before firing.

What dog types are on the sheet?
The silhouettes represent a broad range of breeds and types in varied poses. All are rendered in solid black with no internal detail lines, so the graphic style is consistent across the full set.

Do these require a specific COE glass?
No. The decals are fired on the surface of pre-fired glass, so they do not fuse as a compatible layer and do not need to match the COE of your glass.

How do I apply a decal?
Cut individual designs from the sheet, soak for about 30 seconds until the piece slides freely, position it on clean pre-fired glass, then slide the paper out while holding the decal in place. Work out water and air from the center outward and let the piece dry fully before firing.

Can I place several decals on one piece?
Yes. Apply each decal separately, smoothing out water and air before moving to the next, then let the whole surface dry before firing.

Working Notes

Apply decals only to clean, fully pre-fired glass; residue, fingerprints, or kiln wash can prevent proper adhesion. Let each decal dry thoroughly before firing, since firing over trapped moisture can cause lifting or blistering. The solid black silhouettes contrast well on clear and light glass; results on darker glass depend on available contrast. Every kiln fires differently, so treat the schedule below as a starting point, anneal for the thickness of your glass, and test on scrap first.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a suggested starting point, not a guarantee of results): On fused glass this single-color print fires to a final range of 1240 to 1370 degrees F, held about 10 minutes and kept toward the lower end to preserve density. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees and fire slowly below 500 degrees. 50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees, hold 20 min. 150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees, hold 15 min. 250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees, hold 15 min. 600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees, hold 10 min. Then to 1240 to 1370 degrees, hold about 10 min. Anneal for the thickness of your glass. Results vary by kiln, so test a small piece first.
