The Egg Bottle Draping Mold from Creative Paradise is designed to slump 1.5 and 1.75 liter glass bottles into a flat, egg-shaped form in the kiln. The mold measures 13 inches long by 6 inches wide by 2 inches tall, providing enough surface area for a large bottle to settle and drape evenly as the glass softens under heat.
Like all ceramic kiln molds, this one is COE agnostic, so it works with whatever glass your bottle is made of. Prep the surface with a boron nitride primer or kiln wash, lay the cleaned bottle centered on the mold, and fire to the temperature at which the glass softens and settles flat. The finished piece retains the bottle profile in a low, wide drape suited to serving dishes, decorative platters, or wall pieces.
What does the Egg Bottle Draping Mold make? It slumps a 1.5 or 1.75 liter glass bottle into a flat, egg-shaped form. The draped piece retains the bottle silhouette in a wide, low profile suited to serving pieces, cheese boards, or decorative wall art.
What bottle size fits this mold? Creative Paradise lists 1.5 liter and 1.75 liter bottles as the suggested sizes. The 13 inch by 6 inch mold surface is sized to support those bottles lying flat across it.
How do I prep the mold before draping? Coat the mold surface with a boron nitride primer such as ZYP or a kiln wash such as Hotline Primo Primer , and let it dry completely before placing the bottle. This keeps the softened glass from bonding to the mold and makes removal easier after the kiln cools.
Does this mold work with any COE glass? Yes. Ceramic kiln molds are COE agnostic and are not tied to a specific glass type. Match your firing schedule to the glass in the bottle you are slumping.

Working Notes
These are guidelines, not guarantees. Every kiln fires a little differently, so test a small run first when the result matters and follow a draping schedule suited to your glass and kiln.
Prime the mold surface with a boron nitride mold primer such as ZYP Boron Nitride Mold Primer , or a kiln wash, and let it dry completely before placing the bottle so the softened glass does not bond to the mold.
Clean the bottle and remove all labels before firing. Place it centered and flat on the prepared mold surface.
Ramp slowly through the strain point to reduce the risk of thermal shock. The glass should soften and settle flat over the mold under gravity.
The mold is COE agnostic. Use a firing schedule suited to the glass in the bottle you are draping.
Let the kiln cool fully before removing the draped piece. Re coat the mold with primer as needed between firings.
