Fairies Decals Sheet

This sheet is printed with a full assortment of fairy figures in fine blue line art. Each figure is drawn in a different pose: some stand with wings spread wide, others appear mid-flight or mid-dance, and a few strike more dramatic stances with arms or wings fully extended. The characters range from woodland sprites in leafy dress to costumed figures in pierrot and kimono styles, each given its own personality through delicate, expressive linework. The mix of smaller and slightly larger figures gives you both fine accent pieces and focal elements from a single sheet.

These are water-slide decals designed to be fired onto the surface of pre-fired glass. Soak a decal briefly in room-temperature water, slide it from its backing onto clean, smooth glass, and use a soft squeegee or fingertip to work out bubbles and excess water from the center outward. After the piece dries completely, load it into the kiln. Because the decals bond to the glass surface rather than fusing as a glass layer, they work with any COE glass and fit naturally into an existing studio workflow.

What type of glass can I fire these onto?
These decals fire onto the glass surface rather than being incorporated as a fused layer, so they are compatible with any COE glass. Apply them to clean, pre-fired, smooth glass of your choice.

How do I apply a water-slide decal?
Soak the decal in room-temperature water until it slides freely from the paper backing. Position it on clean, pre-fired glass and smooth from the center outward with a soft squeegee or lint-free cloth to remove air and water. Let the piece dry completely before loading the kiln.

Can I fire these alongside metallic decals in the same load?
This single-color decal fires in the 1240 to 1370 degree F range, toward the lower end. If you fire it alongside full-color decals, which run slightly higher, choose a peak temperature compatible with both and test on a sample piece first to confirm results in your kiln.

Working Notes

The glass surface must be clean and free of dust, oils, and fingerprints before applying a decal. Any residue can cause the decal to lift or bubble during firing. Apply decals only to pre-fired, smooth glass, and allow the piece to dry fully before placing it in the kiln.

Suggested Firing Schedule (a starting point only, not a guarantee of results): This is a single-color decal, so fire toward the lower end of its range to keep the image dense. Ventilate the kiln well up to 1000 degrees F and fire slowly below 500 degrees F. Every kiln fires differently, so test a small piece first and anneal for the thickness of your glass.
50 degrees per hour to 185 degrees F, hold 20 min.
150 degrees per hour to 300 degrees F, hold 15 min.
250 degrees per hour to 500 degrees F, hold 15 min.
600 degrees per hour to 1000 degrees F, hold 10 min.
Then to 1240 to 1370 degrees F, hold about 10 min.
Anneal for the thickness of your glass.
