• Fill the mold with 330 to 340 grams of frit or sheet glass. Weigh your fill for consistent results.
• The mold is COE agnostic. Use a casting schedule matched to your glass, and adjust the anneal soak for the specific glass you are firing.
• The cast feather can be slumped after firing into a mold former to create a tray or shaped piece, or placed on a gentle surface for a more sculptural, lightweight result.
• Let the kiln cool fully before removing the cast piece. Re-prime the mold before each subsequent firing.

Colour de Verre Suggested Firing Schedule

This is a suggested starting schedule based on Colour de Verre general guidance, not a guarantee. Every kiln fires differently. Consult the Colour de Verre project sheet for this mold and test a small run before committing to a full firing.

• Heat no faster than about 350 F (195 C) per hour through the casting phase.
• Fire to no more than about 1450 F (785 C) at the top of the casting segment.
• Drop to and hold at the anneal temperature appropriate for your specific glass. Consult the Colour de Verre project sheet and your glass manufacturer's annealing guidance for the correct soak temperature and duration.
• Allow the kiln to cool fully before opening and removing the cast piece.
